OPS: It Opens Doors

This one-page scenario is less of a full-fledged adventure than an encounter seed, not unlike an earlier OPS, “woods’ edge.” It also continues my obsession with keys and doorways (something you might notice if you read my entry in Hypergraphia issue 2). It gives the investigators something unique to discover, while also giving them more than enough rope to hang themselves with.

“It Opens Doors” comes directly out of two films close to my heart, Hellraiser and Mulholland Dr. If you’ve seen either of these, the inspirations should be clear.

A mysterious key, a box with no seams, and creatures that can walk between worlds. Find out what waits on the other side in . . .

It Opens Doors
